#WickedWednesday: Not A Dragon’s Standard Virgin by Siobhan Muir #Paranormal #erotic #romance

15 May

Welcome back to the blog for what has become one of my favorite weekly features, Wicked Wednesday. Each week, I share a steamy excerpt from a recent erotic publication or occasionally a WIP.

This week, I have the pleasure of introducing you all to fellow erotic romance author, Siobhan Muir’s latest erotic tale, NOT A DRAGON’S STANDARD VIRGIN.

Let’s have a look, shall we?

Not A Dragon’s Standard Virgin
by Siobhan Muir

Publisher: Siren Publishing

Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance

Blurb:

Sacrificial virgins are so sixteenth century, but unless Isabelle finds a man to take her innocence, she’ll likely be next.

For Isabelle Andersen, being a virgin in a dragon-plagued Scottish village is dangerous. Potentially the next dragon sacrifice, Isabelle’s only solution is to lose her innocence, and fast. All she needs is one handsome stranger she can coax into bed, but Lochmore Cott doesn’t get much in the way of visitors.

Jonarrion Swiftwind has sworn off virgins. The last time he took one to his bed, his family paid the price for his lust at the hands of her demon-possessed father. He’s made it his mission to destroy all demons. Nothing distracts him from killing this demon until lovely Isabelle offers him tea. And her virginity.

Just one night of passion makes Jon realize he doesn’t want to let the independent beauty go. But will Isabelle accept him when she discovers the only real dragon in her village… is him?

Excerpt: (Mature Audiences Only)

“Easy, lassie.” Jon stood and held her hands still, the tension humming through her. “There’s no need to rush this.” He drew her back to the bed and sat down. “Come. Sit between my legs and let me help you relax.”

“Between your… Isn’t that where your—” She gestured at his tenting kilt and blushed.

“My what, Isabelle?”

“You know.” The red spilled down her throat and flushed her bosom. He wondered if it carried on straight to her pussy. “Your manly bits.”

He wanted to laugh at her choice of words, but he didn’t wish to anger her. “There are many names associated with my ‘manly bits,’ but it’s most commonly called a ‘cock,’ and yes, that’s where I carry it.”

“Cock.” She repeated the word in her husky voice, and his said anatomy flexed with her attention. “Does it have a mind of its own, then?”

“What?” Where had she learned such things as a virgin?

“Well, it just moved.” She gestured at his groin, and he resisted the urge to cover it with his hand.

He let out a startled laugh. “Actually, my dear, it often responds when called by name, and you said it so well. It couldn’t help but take notice.”

A mischievous smile curled her lips and damn near curled his toes. “Cock.”

True to form, his dick flexed again and his arousal swelled. Her sassy confidence grabbed far more than her sweet innocence. She’d fought years of tradition within this human community to come to his room, and now added some wanton wench into the mix. Sweet Goddess, this might be better than he’d expected.

“That’s exactly how to say it, lassie.” Her smile shot straight to his balls. “Now then, let’s take off that cincher so you may relax, and you can learn the feel of my body.” And I can enjoy yours.

For Wicked Wednesday this week, I’m happy to bring you a steamy excerpt from Michelle Clay’s latest Evernight release, Light the Shadows.

lts1mLight the Shadows
by Michelle Clay
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance

Blurb: You only get one chance at life then you die. The game’s over, no second chances.  But she was never one to follow all the rules.

In a strange twist of fate, a woman flees purgatory only to jump into a newly vacated body. When she wakes in the hospital, she has a brand new life and a whole lot of unanswered questions.  Now she’s Micah Munroe, a real estate agent with broken memories of the messed up life she once lived. A mysterious man who claims to be Death says she’s his granddaughter and that she’s something called a grimm.

Sully knows she’s an imposter because he reaped the soul of the real Micah only a week ago. He suspects she might be a misplaced shadow, what he calls spirits and vengeful ghosts. He becomes obsessed with finding out who she really is and just how she inhabited a new body.  He’ll stop at nothing to find the truth and send her back to purgatory where she belongs.  What he didn’t bargain on was how his body would react to her or how powerful the white light within her is.

When a powerful shadow and her horde of angry spirits kidnaps Sully’s best friend, they must work together to get him back.  Fighting their feelings for each other isn’t half as difficult as fighting the army of shadows bent on starting a war with the living.

Excerpt: (Mature Audiences Only)

His husky drawl sent a vibration of hunger through her and ignited a fire deep within her core. “You are so fucking hot.”

Recapturing her mouth, he pressed against her, proving just how hot, how hard she made him. Micah whimpered, and he drew his mouth away from her lips. Just like his tongue and hands, his incredibly sexy eyes ignited a fire within her.

“Sully.” She bit her lower lip and reveled in knowing she was the reason he was so hard.

His fingers were at her waist, unzipping then dragging the dress pants down her hips. Micah trembled with need as he shucked them from her legs and dropped them onto the floor. He closed the space between them, and her thighs closed around his waist. Her sex drowned with desire, clouding her mind with seductive thoughts and want. With him so intimately close, his hard-on pressed against her through the damp lace of her panties. She shifted her hips, and Sully rewarded her with a groan.

“Tell me something.” He grinned wickedly then slid his fingers up her inner thigh. They inched closer to her pool of desire and made her heartbeat race. “Are you wet?”

Her hands lifted from his shoulders, ran through his silken hair and down to his chest. Her nimble fingers fluttered across his shirt and even reached the second button before his hand closed over hers, stilling it. He prevented her from going any further by pulling her hand to his mouth. One by one, he kissed her fingers.

She frowned and pulled away from him to look up into his eyes. “Sully, I want…”

“I know what you want, doll.” His eyes glittered with feral passion.

A gasp shuddered past her lips when Sully’s index finger slid past the ribbon-thin panties then traveled downward. His finger slid through the tight coils of hair at the juncture of her thighs then lightly grazed her most delicate area. She clutched his shoulders and tightened her thighs around him. “Sully!”

“Want me to stop?” His voice was full of gravel and sexy as hell.

She nipped his bottom lip. “Don’t you dare.”

#WickedWednesday: Some Steam of the Succubus Variety #erotic #romance

27 Mar

Wicked_Banner

Welcome to another installment of Wicked Wednesday. This week my guest is the fabulous erotic romance author, Lila Shaw, who is sharing an excerpt with us from her Evernight Publishing release, SUCCUBUS STEAM.

If you haven’t read one of Ms. Shaw’s titles, you are definitely missing out. She is one of my favorite erotic romance authors.

Succubus-Steam1MBlurb: A succubus half-breed, such as Violet, who hobnobs with the highest echelons of Victorian London society, is a bride in a difficult marriage of extremes. Any act that wants of propriety, and she would find herself banished to the wilds of Cornwall where her full-blooded succubus sisters live and thrive. Yet she prefers the company of mortals, even if she must occasionally risk her reputation by engaging in discreet sexual liaisons.

When Violet’s great uncle dies and bequeaths her his laboratory and home, she crafts an artificially intelligent automaton named Adam to sate her carnal needs. Her plan is coming along nicely until an incubus from her past, and the unwitting model for her invention, discovers her secret. Violet has good reason to be wary of losing her heart to Lyle, but perhaps Adam is the key to fulfilling all of her desires.

Excerpt: (Mature Audiences Only)

“Adam. I am desirous of your copulatory skills.”

He turns his head and regards me with the most devilish smile, again surprising me with his quick ability to synthesize my responses and predict new ones. “Yes, my love.” He snaps into a side lying position and whispers a finger from my forehead, down over my nose and lips, down my throat and into the valley between my breasts. He replaces his finger with his mouth, pressing light kisses in the same path before returning to my lips.

I moan and kiss him, too, opening my lips to receive his tongue and sliding mine against it. As we kiss, his fingers tiptoe to my sex to fondle and explore, moving me to the limit of what I can bear without being more thoroughly penetrated.

Adam changes the angle of his head as he repositions himself on top of me. He’s heavy, but when I open my thighs, the pressure shifts from my chest to my hips. “You are so beautiful, my love,” he whispers. Those lips move to my neck where his tongue swirls against my skin in the heat from his mouth.

“Yes, Adam, I like that,” I say, my voice husky with need.

He supports more of his weight on his elbows. His hands move, his left threading through my hair to cradle my skull while the right skims over my breasts to my hips to my thighs. He pulls one leg higher. I wrap both around his narrow hips, pressing his rigid cock between us and moving against him.

Two new hands touch my legs and my eyes fly open. “Lyle!”

“Shh-shh-shh. Just trust me,” Lyle says. He rubs his hands along my calves and to my insteps, repeating the soothing caresses again and again.

Adam takes both my wrists in one hand and pins them over my head. He moves off and lies on his side next to me. His mouth latches on to a nipple where he sucks, his hot tongue bathing it in warmth. He hums and groans, tugging gently with his lips and offering the occasional scrape of his teeth.

Lyle moves his head in between my splayed legs. His breath fans my sex. His fingers grip and push my thighs to open me further to him.

My back arches up and I cry out when Lyle’s tongue plows a broad stroke between my folds then encircles but never touches my prime pleasure point. Adam ceases his suckling to smother my cries with a kiss. Lyle’s ministrations continue to torment me. I reach a hand down to push his head away, saying, “Stop! I’ll come, but it’s too soon.”

But he doesn’t. If anything, his mouth grows hungrier, his tongue more cruel as it dives deep inside my channel, always skipping past the neediest part of my sex. Adam, too, is busy applying that marvelous mouth to my breasts, my neck, my ears and my lips.

“Adam,” I can barely get the words out between gasps and kisses. “Watch Lyle, watch and learn.”

Back of the Book: Normal people don’t believe their nightmares stalk them. They don’t fall in love with boys who don’t exist, either.

Seventeen-year-old Layla Labelle, though, is far from normal. Her delusions walk the earth. Her hallucinations hunt her, and her skin heats to a burn every time her anger flares.

Or is that all in her head?

Layla doesn’t know what to believe any more because if none of that’s true, Max MacLarnon must be an illusion, and her heart must still be broken.

No matter how much she wants to believe Max is real, doing so would mean everything else is, too. How, then, is that possible?

The answers lie in an age-old legend the supernatural aren’t prepared to reveal, and with a curse that could tear Layla and Max apart forever—if it doesn’t kill them both first.

In TIED, book one in the Fire Born trilogy, learning the truth will mean fighting an arsenal  of demons, and being with Max will put Layla on a path toward her own destruction.

Just how far will Layla go to protect the one she loves?

The answer may never be far enough … away.

Se tell me, what do you think of the cover? Does it make you want to pick up the book? Excite you? Confuse you? I’m always curious what sort of reactions readers have to a cover, so please feel free to share. Of course, I wouldn’t ask you all to share without being willing to do so myself, so…

My Thoughts: I absolutely love the fiery phoenix looking image in the center of the cover. It really draws you in right away and gets the eyes wandering over the rest of the cover. Eye catching is always a good thing. I find the wolfish gargoyle like creature in the corner a bit odd — maybe a bit too computer generated or sci-fi looking for me? The keywords mention fantasy, not sci-fi, so Im not sure how fitting it is to the overall cover. Without reading the story, it is of course really impossible to tell how it fits in. In general, I find the cover makes me curious about the story, so I have to give it a Thumbs UP. :)

I am over the moon to be able to be part of the Blog Tour to announce the release of Stella Berkley’s latest release, I’ll Be Damned. The cover is smokin’ and since I got to beta read some of the stories in this one, I know the stories are too. I’m a huge fan of Ms. Berkley’s writing.

Title: I’ll Be Damned
Author: Stella Berkley
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
Genre: Erotic Romance (Dark)
Release Date:

Blurb: For one night, love is enough to bridge the distance between heaven and hell.

In Devil Be Mine, Lucifer’s soul whore, Delilah, is tempted by her favorite submissive, Micah, an angel as pure as she is naughty.

In Fire and Ice, heaven’s black sheep, Qenna, meets her match in Pyro, chaos incarnate and devilish charm in a designer suit.

In Raven, a reaper forces the Guardian, Mara, to accept what’s in her heart or say goodbye to her Raven forever.

In Hunting Pleasure, Lucifer’s Lieutenant, Selene, indulges in heaven’s highest ranking sentinels, Michael and Arael, who turn the hunter into the hunted.

And finally, in No Mercy, God’s right hand, Gabriella, must convince Lucifer to abolish the law standing between her brethren and their lovers. To right a wrong she played a part in, Gabriella agrees to a private meeting with the object of her darkest fantasies—the devil himself.

Excerpt from Fire and Ice

Giant snowflakes drifted down around me, where I perched on the ledge of the war monument. The wings of the stone angel at my back, along with the growing darkness, would mask my own silver wings from any humans who might wander through Centennial Park.

Beneath me, Micah, one of my brothers on high, walked by cloaked in a black trench coat and a fedora.

“You’re not going to Lu’s titty bar, by any chance, are you?” I shouted down to him while suppressing a snicker. “Gabriella’s going to be pissed.”

Micah stopped and turned striking blue eyes up at me, cutting across the winter twilight like beacons. “I—how did—it’s none of your concern, Qenna.” He rolled his head until his neck cracked. “What are you doing down here? Gabriella told you to remain in the upper realm tonight since she’s with Him and Lucifer and can’t keep you out of trouble.”

No wonder she was so crabby earlier. She totally wanted to bone Lu—it was written all over her every time someone mentioned his name. I quirked up an eyebrow and shrugged. “If you won’t answer me, why the hell should I answer you?” I snorted and leaned forward, my long, white hair tumbling over the edge of the monument in spirals. “And you’re one to talk. She told you to stay put, too.”

His eyes darkened before tilting his head forward, obscured once again by the brim of his hat. He gave a disgruntled huff. “Just do us all a favor and keep out of trouble, though saying that to you is like telling a kitten to stay away from a dangling scrap of yarn.” Micah continued in the direction he’d been going. “Lucifer isn’t around to watch his kind tonight, so you’re on your own.”

“Say hi to Delilah for me.”

Micah’s shoulders hunched up, but he never turned back. “And give my regards to Pyro.”

Now, for my interview with the fabulous Stella Berkley:

Bex: We’ll start out with a basic authory type question. Are you a pantser or a plotter?

Stella: Total, total, tooooootal pantser.  Plotting and I don’t get along, no patience for it.  Plotting takes patience and forethought and research.  Nope, I step onto the path at chapter 1 and take off at a sprint, usually having no idea where I’m going until I type THE END.  There’s no better thrill than finishing a book and re-reading it, and it’s all new to me, like reading something someone else wrote.  It sounds weird, but I often zen out that much.

Bex: A girl after my own heart. I’m not sure I could write if I had to outline and plot. What authors inspire you?

Stella: My two big ones are from opposite genres, but they have the same talent.  Characters.  Stephen King and Karen Marie Moning create the most amazing people in their stories, so real I actually miss them when I close the book.  I still think about KMM’s character Jericoh Barrons.  If I ever create a character half as intriguing, I’ll be over the moon.

Bex: I admit I’ve not read any of Karen Marie Moning. Will have to Google her after this. :P Speaking of different genres, if you could only write in one genre for the rest of your career, what genre would you choose?

Stella: I love urban fantasy.  Mostly because it’s so freeing.  I can create whatever I want and come up with some wild explanation for it.  No research.  Yeah, that’s a bonus.  If I want a dragon helipad in the middle of my city?  Hell, I’ll make one!

Bex: Another place we seem to agree. I love the creativity the fantasy genre allows for. Let’s turn the conversation to characters. Which of the characters in your current release is your favorite?

Stella: Lucifer.  Mmm, let me say it again, slower.  Lucifer.  Doesn’t it just roll off the tongue?  He’s incredibly sexy and all alpha male, which I love, but there’s also a story to him, too.  I like my men to have a colorful past to help me understand them.

Bex: Hehe — Nice! If allowed to keep only one book on your bookshelf, what would it be?

Stella: Erg…just one?  Seriously?

Bex: Seriously.

Stella: Okay, fine.  I guess it would be The Killing Dance by Laurell K. Hamilton where Anita and Jean Claude finally break the tension they’ve been torturing me with for five whole books.  I might have read it a few times.  O_o

Bex: Wow. Another author I haven’t read. *jots it down* Let’s focus a bit on you. Morning person or grumpy bear?

Stella: Hate mornings.  Hate, loathe and despise them.  When I have to get up and go to work.  On Saturdays, mornings are awesome.

Bex: Add in Sunday and I’m with you. I savor my weekends. What is next for you?

Stella: Gah, too much.  I’ve set myself a lofty writing goal in 2013.  I intend to finish 5 novels, three of which are already started.  Yes, that’s a lot, but I’ve already finished book 2 of a 7 book urban fantasy series called Ironhill Jinn, and it’s only February.  I also have the final book of my UF trilogy coming out in June.  Sad and excited at the same time.

Bex: You know I’ve said it before — you’re a writing machine! Thank goodness, because I’m a fangirl (never thought I’d type that in my life). Anyway…back to you. If I were to look in your closet right now, would I find frills and lace or demin and tees?

Stella: Um…neither?  I’m a comfy kind of girl.  When I’m not in dress pants for work, I’m usually in yoga pants and tees or a sweat shirt.  Yeah, it’s not pretty, but it’s comfy.

Bex: I can get behind comfy. For sure. What is the weirdest lesson your parents ever taught you?

Stella: How to drive a combine?  Or how to deliver a calf?  There are too many to name, really.  *snort*

Bex: Interesting parents. I like em’! :P Now, for probably the most important question of the interview. If you were only allowed to eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Stella: Hands down, cheese cake.  With some sort of fruity drizzle on it.  *drools*  Do you have any?

Bex: Criminy. I wish. We’ll have to hit The Cheesecake Factory after this…now I want some too.

I want to thank Stella for taking the time to visit with us and share her steamy new release, I’ll Be Damned. Make sure you show her the love and go pick up a copy.

8 Feb

Welcome back to the blog. Usually I start these combination posts with the info on the author and their new release at the end, this time, I am switching things up a bit. I’m going to show you the story before we meet the author.

I know when I was doing my blog tours and promo work for Call of the Sea, I wanted the focus to be on the story and not me. So that’s where my thinking is on that.

Let’s take a look at CR Moss’ new release, LOVERS AND THE FIEND — an Evernight Naughty Fairy Tale.

LATF 200x300

Title: Lovers and the Fiend

Excerpt: (MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY)

The handsome guy grabbed his pants, hurried off the stage and down the side steps.

Well, it’s either find my girl or appease any inquisitiveness toward being with a member of the same sex. Like maybe with Mr. Sexy who’s coming toward me.

Jack stopped several inches short of running into the dancer, who happened to be the same height as his six-foot frame. The man smiled. His dazzling gray eyes twinkled. The dancer reminded Jack of someone, but he couldn’t place who. The guy dropped his pants, grabbed the back of Jack’s head and planted his lips on his. The kiss was harsh, demanding, but the man didn’t seem to care, so neither did Jack. His free hand traveled down and cupped the bulge hiding in Jack’s jeans. Tingles raced through his body, and Jack wondered what the feel of the dancer’s hand on his naked cock would be like.

For the merest of moments, the man swept his tongue into Jack’s mouth. He tasted of a nutty, roasted flavor with a sweet tinge. Caramel? Perhaps. Jack made a note to find the beer the dancer drank beforehand and read the ingredients.

Loving the play of his tongue against his, Jack was about to reciprocate in the intensity of the kiss, but the dancer broke it off.

“I’m glad you approved,” the man’s tenor voice purred in a hint above a whisper.

Jack wasn’t sure if he meant how Jack didn’t mind the stranger planting one on him, touching him or the thought he had about what he’d been drinking, or all of it, so he just nodded.

“Come.” The man presented his long fingered hand with a charming smile.

Surprised how it didn’t faze him to accept it, he grinned, and where they touched, Jack’s skin sizzled. His knees seemed to weaken, and the only thought running through his lust-addled brain was that he’d follow the dancer anywhere, do anything the man wanted him to do.

The dancer winked, making him feel like his mind was an open book to him, and guided him to a door between the bar and stage. After stepping through the doorway, the man shut the door, encasing them in darkness. His hand tugged Jack’s. In silence, the dancer led him through the dark. How? He didn’t know. But in a weird way, Jack trusted him not to lead him astray.

Several feet in, the man stopped. “I am pleased you made the right decision to come here tonight.” His hot breath fanned Jack’s cheek.

Jack wished he could see the man and how close he actually was to him. If he moved his head, would he be able to kiss the guy in the thong? He cleared his throat. “Well, first off I came to find my woman. Secondly, your invitation seemed to be one I couldn’t ignore, and…” Jack paused. And what? Now that he was here, he found himself aroused and craving the man’s attention. Could he admit that aloud?

“And?” The man licked the edge of his ear.

Desire within Jack spiked, and heat fanned out from his ear and encompassed his neck. He gulped. “And now I think I want you.”

My Interview with C.R. Moss:

Bex: When did you first start writing? What made you want to be a writer?

C.R.: For a very brief period of time, I had ideas of becoming a teacher or an astronaut. Both occurred before the age of ten. But for the most part, I knew I wanted to write at a young age, as early as I learned to read. I was always cooking up stories to entertain myself in the rural area I lived in. Had to since there were no other kids around to play with. My defining moment came when I received an A in English in grade school. I was just shy of being a teenager when I had my ‘calling.’ Ever since then, most of my choices in life have revolved around my goal of becoming a full-time fiction writer and being published.
Upon my ‘calling.’ I had written a story for a magazine. It’d been rejected, but that was my start. After that, I began studying the craft of writing. It started with working on the school newspaper in middle school to creative writing classes and Teens Art Festivals in high school. I received a BA in Communications, Information and Library Studies from Rutgers College with a strong concentration in English Lit/Writing and Interpersonal Communications/PR. Studying under the mentorship of Terri Valentine (author of ‘Sands of Time,’ a Zebra Historical Romance), I honed my novel writing skills. In the mid to late 2000s, I finally put my foot down, got over my nerves and took the plunge into submitting stories to publishers. I’ve been published since 2008, and as for the craft, I’m still learning things by taking the occasional online class, attending industry conferences, and devouring all the writing how-to books I can get my hands on.
I was influenced by the early works of Stephen King, like The Shining, Pet Sematary, Carrie and Christine. Those books turned me on to writing and started me on writing horror, and then in the early 90’s I read Jude Deveraux’s A Knight in Shining Armor which started me on romances and romance writing.

Bex: What inspired you to write your novel, Lovers and the Fiend? Is there an interesting story behind it?

C.R.: Lovers and the Fiend is a story in Evernight Publishing’s Naughty Fairy Tale line. The characters, Jack and Kristina, appeared in my short story – Chasing Miss Kringle – that’s in an Evernight Publishing anthology – Stockings and Suspenders. This is the first of a handful of stories I have planned for the NFT line that revolve around the world started in CMK and Lovers. You don’t have to read the anthology story to read Lovers, but it’d be nice if you did. ;)
The idea for the world these characters exist in came when I got the idea for Chasing Miss Kringle for Stockings and Suspenders. At first the anthology story was just going to revolve around a guy meeting a woman at a 5k race, but then my muse ran with the paranormal idea and created a dual investigation service. Then, I had an urge to write for the NFT line and figured CMK would be a good place to start with a world and setting for that story. It all takes place in my home town of Las Vegas.

Bex: Love Vegas, always an adventure to be found there. Speaking of adventures, are you a pantser or a plotter?

C.R.: A combination of the two. I do an information dump and outline as much of the story that’s in my head first thing. Then I work off the outline, fleshing out all the ideas and stuff. If I over plan, then sometimes I feel like the story’s already been written, and I end up not wanting to work on it for quite some time.

Bex: Definitely sounds familiar. Which of the characters in your current release is your favorite? Why?

C.R.: Jack is my favorite character in the book. He’s handsome, intelligent, stubborn, honest, yet slow-to-change. A cynic after my own heart who has a good partner trying to convert him. Plus, he’s athletic and in shape and oh so yummy.

Bex: Yummy works for me! Are you a morning person or grumpy bear?

C.R.: I am nowhere near being a morning person. Never have been. Guess that makes me a grumpy bear. Lol!

Bex: So far we are pretty compatible. Not that I’m trying to pick you up or anything… Tell us one thing it would surprise us to know about you?

C.R.: I used to crew for a balloon pilot.

Bex: Nice! I’ve been in a hot air balloon before, but it was tethered and safe (ish). What is next for you?

C.R.: As C.R. Moss, I’m currently working on two stories with my writing partner for our Double D Ranch Tales series and on a couple of stories under my Casey Moss pen name. I also don’t have dates for them yet, but I do have two contracted stories through Decadent Publishing for their 1NightStand series. One is called Sunset Temptations and the other is Sunset Heat.

Bex: Sounds like you’re a busy lady. Tell us something about your book we won’t find in the back cover blurb?

C.R.: There’s a fourth character who’s pining after one of the three main characters.

Bex: Ooo…intrigue. Got me curious now, for sure. Lets switch things up a bit. If I were to look in your closet right now, would I find frills and lace or demin and tees?

C.R.: Denim & Tees

Bex: A girl after my own heart. If you were only allowed to eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?

C.R.: The homemade peanut butter and chocolate balls I make.

Bex: Yum — next time you stop in, you’ll have to bring me some of those. If you were taken and places on a deserted island, and were allowed one other human being to spend your life with you on that island, who would you choose?

C.R.: My hubby. :)

Bex: Excellent answer, there :P

Excerpt: (Mature Audiences Only)

“Are you kidding me? You weigh maybe a hundred pounds soaking wet. What do you think you’re doing walking alone at night?” She noticed Eric looking down at all five feet three inches of her, scowling. “Let me give you a ride home.”

Eric’s radio went off. “Shit. I have to go, Calla, another attack. Call a cab, please.”

“Yeah, sure.”

He hurried away. Calla walked in the opposite direction, towards her house. She took this path three to four days a week on her way home from work. There wasn’t any way she was going to call a cab.

She heard footsteps closing in behind her. Alarmed, she wrapped her hand around the can of mace in her pocket and picked up her pace.

The footsteps were gone. Had she imagined them? Calla turned her head to look but she was alone. “Get it together, chicken. You’re scaring yourself now.”

She rounded the corner nearing an alley. A trickle of red blood flowed from it, creeping onto the sidewalk. Calla stopped in front of a pathway as uneasiness washed over her. Fear and ethics battled within her. Ethics won, but her legs felt like lead, and they weren’t moving. She forced herself to take a few steps and spotted a mound lying next to the wall.

After several tense seconds, she tightened her grip on the can of mace and slowly made her way towards the heap on the ground.

This is exactly how all the stupid girls are killed in the movies. They go walking right into danger, and boom, they’re dead.

Approaching the mound, she trembled. As she moved closer she saw a tanned foot sticking out from the trench coat. Calla bent down, her chest heaving, hands shaking as she reached the foot and gave it a quick shake, but nothing happened. Relax, before you hyperventilate and end up on the ground, too. Breathe, Calla, breathe.

She stood, crept forward, and reached for what she hoped was the head. She knelt down and pulled back the thick trench coat. His head turned to the side, face badly beaten, eyes cracked to reveal a glimmer of the brightest green she had ever seen.

“Holy shit!” She jumped back, startled.

The man didn’t move. She bent down again this time reaching for his neck. The pulse was weak. She had already used her gifts twice this evening, and her body still ached from the two previous failures. “Focus. You can do this.” She struggled to turn the man onto his back. When she finally rolled him over there was a knife, with a green hue as if the metal was oxidized, protruding out of his chest.

“Of course there’s a knife,” Calla murmured to herself.

“I’m going to try to help you,” she whispered in his ear. She knew she might not be able to save him, but she had to try. If she could pull the knife out in a quick motion she could heal him. She placed her hands around the hilt of the knife and pulled. Nothing happened. “Maybe if I get some leverage.”

Calla straddled the man, planting one tennis shoe on each side of his limp body. She bent down and wrapped both hands around the hilt and pulled with everything she had. The knife began to move—barely—but it was moving. It felt like pulling a rubber boot stuck in thick mud. After a few more attempts the suction released, and the knife was freed.

She collapsed on his chest and sat up, placing both palms on the bleeding wound. “Please, oh please let this work.” Calla focused on the wound, gathering energy. Then her hands began to glow. Sweat dripped matting blonde hair to her forehead, and her vision began to dim. “I won’t let you die,” she promised.

Then darkness embraced her.

It’s been a while since I have had a chance to share my cover whore status and participate in cover reveal, and I have to say, my first one of 2013 is a real winner. New Release News: Succubus Steam by Lila Shaw (@lila_shaw)

6 Jan

Today, I have the distinct pleasure of introducing you all to my friend and fellow erotic author, Lila Shaw’s newest release with Evernight Publishing, Succubus Steam. As anyone who’s read my latest release, Blood and Fire, knows  I have an affinity for succubi tales :)

Succubus Steam is the latest edition to The Succubus Chronicles, and joins predecessors, Succubus Games and Soul of the Succubus. Though part of a series, the books can be read in any order.

If you like steampunk, and the sexier the better, I hope you’ll consider reading my latest release, Succubus Steam. It’s a fun little sin nugget about an intrepid inventor in prim Victorian London. Only problem is she’s part succubus–a sex demon who requires sexual energy for survival–and must maintain the decorum of a prim spinster miss of society.

The tale is part of Evernight Publishing’s Romance on the Go line. These stories are novelettes, which are longer than short stories but not quite novella length. The good news is you can usually read them in a single sitting at lunch or before bed. I recommend before bed. ;)

Succubus Steam1M

Blurb:

A succubus half-breed, such as Violet, who hobnobs with the highest echelons of Victorian London society, is a bride in a difficult marriage of extremes.

Be Warned: menage sex (MFM), anal sex, Adam is a very large, steam-powered sex toy

New Release News: Family Ties by Robin Badillo @evernightpub

14 Nov

Today on the Book Nook, we are featuring another amazing looking Evernight Publishing release, Family Ties by Robin Badillo. I can tell you right now, the cover on this one really grabbed me.

** THIS STORY IS EROTIC IN NATURE AND THE INFORMATION CONTAINED BELOW IS FOR ADULT AUDIENCES ONLY!

Here are the details on the Ms. Badillo’s new release:

Title: Family Ties

Author: Robin Badillo
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
Genre: Erotic Romance

BLURB:

Every pack needs an alpha and every alpha needs a pack.

Tucker Wilde, a lone wolf, returns to the town where his shifter lineage first began, only to discover his rightful place as alpha has been handed down through another blood-line. To make matters worse, old family secrets threaten the fate of the love he’s destined to find.

Shifter, Tegan Blaid is the key to saving her pack by joining with the son of a powerful pack member, but her heart belongs to Tucker, the one wolf she was never meant to know.

Can Tucker and Tegan fight the forces against them to secure their positions in the pack, or is history determined to repeat itself despite their family ties?

ADULT EXCERPT:

She held her breath when the oversized wolf emerged into the clearing. Every muscle in his broad shoulders flexed and she could see the rise and fall of his chest with every heavy breath he took.

Tegan rose to her feet and reached for the thick fur around his neck. God, he’s so beautiful.

Not nearly as breathtaking as you.

“Wait?” She withdrew her hand. “You really can read my thoughts.”

Can’t all wolves hear each other’s thoughts? He nudged her hand with his snout.

“No.” Tegan splayed her fingers through his coat, tugging on it as she massaged the firm muscles between his shoulder blades. “I’ve never heard another wolf’s thoughts and as far as I know, none have ever heard mine.” This is crazy.

We’re just special, I guess.

“Yeah, I guess.”

Tucker moved closer, rubbing himself against her thigh. Run with me.

“Tucker, I…” Tegan drew his warm body near, hugging him to her leg. “Okay. Okay”

Tucker eased back and sat on his haunches.

Tegan swallowed hard as a flurry of angst dashed through her body. In order to run, her clothes had to go.

Keenly aware of Tucker’s intense stare, Tegan removed his jacket and let it fall to the ground, her eyes fixated on his. “Are you going to watch me undress?” Her heart raced and she struggled to control the goose-bumps rippling across her skin as she awaited his reply.

Do you want me to watch you?

Tegan nodded. But not like that.

Tucker immediately transitioned back into his human form and stood across from her, naked, and glistening with beads of perspiration.

As her gaze trailed downward, moisture gushed between her legs when her eyes feasted upon his massive erection jutting upward toward his stomach. Holy Hell.

Tucker ran his hand up the length of his shaft and thumbed the slit. He bit his bottom lip as though pleased to present himself to her. “Your turn.”

“God, you’re beautiful.”

“Nowhere near as breathtaking as you.”

Tegan stepped closer, unbuttoning her blouse. “Have you ever been with a shifter?”

Tucker swallowed hard, his eyelids lowering to half-mast as he visually took her in.  “Didn’t even know I was a shifter until recently.”

Dismissing his reply, Tegan moved on to her next question. “Why can’t other wolves hear me?”

“I don’t know. Maybe no other wolf is meant to.”

Good answer. She licked her lips, giving her instincts free reign over her body as she slinked toward him. “I can’t stop thinking about you. Your scent is everywhere.”

Tucker reached out and cupped the back of her neck with his right hand, drawing her face closer, inches from his. “Not everywhere—yet.” With that, his mouth crashed into hers and a growl like none she’d ever heard echoed into the night.

Tucker tore away her top and ran long, thick fingers up and down her back, pulling and tugging at her bra as his hot kisses trailed along her throat.

“God, you smell so good.” Tucker dropped to his knees and quickly unfastened her jeans, jerking them down from side to side, licking her stomach and nipping at the tender skin on her hip bones as he ventured lower.

Her panties were next and she stepped out of them as he guided them past her knees.

“Now let’s see how you taste.”

Tegan shuddered as he selfishly lapped at her freshly waxed mound. She sucked air through her teeth when he parted her lips and probed her clit with the hardened tip of his tongue.

“Shit.” Her knees weakened and she felt herself losing the battle to stand.

Tucker stopped and lowered her to the ground.

In seconds, his lips found hers again. His tongue plunged deep and she sucked it, tasting her own tangy juices. “I want you so bad.” Tegan moaned.

“Then have me.”
