Heat Wave Blog Hop #Giveaway #freebies #fun

HEAT WAVEHOP

Welcome to my little piece of the world wide web. If you have been following along for a while, you know I have been a bit MIA from regular blogging of late. Between my family, FT job, writing, and running a fledgling indie publishing house, I haven’t had much free time to keep up with things here. My sincere apologies, especially if you missed me *grin*

So anyway, I figure what better way to get into your good graces again, or for those of you new to the blog, introduce myself than by giving something away. And that is just what blog hops are all about, friends and freebies.

Roane Publishing (the fledgling publisher I mentioned a bit ago) is hosting the hop, and giving away a GRAND PRIZE of a $50 Amazon Gift Card. But to sign up for that goodie, you have to visit their page (link below) and enter to win. But a blog hop has more than one prize, as each of the sites taking part is giving away something.

I am giving an INTERNATIONAL prize and a US only prize. So see below for the details.

For US entrants only.

Signed copy of either Call of the Sea by Rebecca Hart or a signed copy of Bad Boys Wanted, featuring an erotic romance short by R. Brennan. Winner’s choice.

For International entrants:

An ecopy of any title from the backlist of either R. Brennan or Rebecca Hart

The best part, is to enter to win, either of the prizes is to sign up for my monthly newsletter, Bex Book News, which features all the goings on for both Rebecca and R. (the same person, in case you weren’t aware). I use the term monthly very loosely, as I have not really been putting them out every month, but rather when I actually have information to share with you all. So it really becomes the best way to stay up to date on all my goings on: book releases, signings, sales, etc. So hit the link below and join today. The winners of my giveaway will be selected from those who sign up for the newsletter during the BLOG HOP event.

NEWSLETTER SIGN-UP LINK: http://wordpress.us12.list-manage1.com/subscribe?u=ce520feb72e8d80271601a406&id=e2ca63662d

If you are already a newsletter subscriber (I know who you are :P), just comment below and you will be entered to win as well.

Don’t forget — this is a BLOG HOP and there are bunches of other prizes to be had and new blogs and authors to visit, to hit the link below and you can visit Roane’s Blog to enter to win the $50 Amazon gift card, as well as a slew of others.

Thanks for visiting and for signing up for the newsletter. It’s so great to have your support.

My Writing Process Blog Event: My turn to own up thanks to @ElyzabethMVaLey #writing

I’ve been tagged in a fun little blog event we’ve affectionately called the “Writing Process Blog Thingie”. 😛

writing_essay

Basically, I’ve been tagged by the wonderful Elyzabeth M. VaLey in a post on her blog last week, and this week, it’s time to pay the piper and share a little bit about my own writing process.

Here goes 🙂

1)     What am I working on?

Anyone who knows me kn0ws I am working on far too many stories than I should. Right now, I am working on the next story in my Roses and Thorns BDSM series, plus I have a naughty fairy tale in the works I would like to submit before summer is in full swing. On the mainstream author side (Rebecca Hart), I’ve got an antho release in March and I’d like to get the first novel in her fantasy series finished off and out for consideration.

2)     How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I’d like to think my writing brings the elements of strong prose and vivid description together with believable, likable characters and a story you can’t get out of your head. My erotic writing I think lends beauty to the oft misunderstood world of BDSM and the amazingly romantic elements inherent in the lifestyle. You’d have to tell me if I’ve accomplished that with my stories. 🙂

3)     Why do I write what I do?

With respect to BDSM romance, I write it because of what I mentioned above — the idea that the lifestyle is somehow dirty or taboo in some way. I hope to really highlight the romantic beauty and profound love that can be obtained in a strong BDSM relationship.

4)     How does your writing process work?
My writing process, and schedule, are complete chaotic. I work a FT job, so I tend to steal time wherever and whenever I can. I have written stories during meetings at the office, during breaks or lunches, before work, weekends, after work… the list goes on. I can be a procrastinator, so I do much better with a solid deadline than left to flounder and schedule my writing on my own. Really, the only thing I absolutely have to have to get my writing done is music, and the type depends strongly on the type of story I’m writing at the time. So, my writing process revolves mostly around inspirational playlists.
Now for the fun part of this feature — tagging some fellow authors for you to visit with. They will both be sharing their writing process next week on MONDAY, FEB. 25th, so be sure to stop by and visit with them as well. 🙂

See you next time.

Two girls. Four centuries. One curse.

Isabella started it—all because a boy fell in love with her—but it ends with Sarah.

Isabella and Thomas meet in secret during the witching hours while the rest of the villagers hide behind locked doors. And even though Isabella’s scared, she wants Thomas more. He’ll protect her from the night, from his father who’ll decide her future, and from the paranoia-fueled hunting parties taking away innocents.

Centuries later, seventeen-year old Sarah runs away to an aunt she never knew she had. Her dad? Dead. Her mother? A liar. She wants the memories of a father she never got, but instead, discovers her father’s death wasn’t innocent. Everyone—the Wiccans, the townies, even her quasi-boyfriend—is hiding something. The history-rich town has a secret they will kill to keep, entangling Sarah into a centuries old witch curse.

New Release News (and an Interview): Betrayed by Alyssa Fox #releaseday #eBook

kablam_PanicI am a bit behind schedule today — work always seems to get me when I have other things to do, but today is release day for Alyssa Fox’s erotic romance, BETRAYED – the second story in her Sizzling Nights series published by Evernight Publishing.

As part of the happy event, I have scored an interview with Ms. Fox. Yay me (and you guys).

Bex: A big thank you to Alyssa for agreeing to stop in today. First off, huge congrats on the release. I think we’ll start off with a bit about how you write. Are you a pantser or a plotter?

Alyssa: I’m a plotter for the most part. I have written some short stories as a panster, but feel more comfortable with plotting.

Bex: Do you have any writing rituals or special processes you complete before sitting down to write?

Alyssa: I have to have my playlist going while writing, and either coffee or a pop next to me.

Bex: What authors inspire you?

Alyssa: Maya Banks, Shayla Black and Nora Roberts are just a few that inspire me.

Bex: Are any of your characters modeled after real people?

Alyssa: Not in this book, but in my debut book, Road to Recovery, Erin was modeled after my best friend.

Bex: What music was on your playlist while writing your novel?

Alyssa: That’s a tough question to answer. I listen to a lot of different genres of music. For, Betrayed I had country, rock, and pop on my playlist for the book.

Bex: Morning person or grumpy bear?

Alyssa: I’m a grumpy bear. Give me my coffee and get out of my way!

Bex: My kinda girl! What group were you a part of in High School? Jocks? Nerds? Metal heads?

Alyssa: I was in the group where they got into trouble a lot, but I was pretty quiet and shy. I didn’t get into too much trouble.

Bex: What is next for you?

Alyssa: I’m working on book three, in the Sizzling Nights Series, which is Kevin’s book.  You get to see a little more of him in this book.

Bex: What is the oddest question you’ve been asked with respect to your book?

Alyssa: Does your husband help with research for the sex scenes?

Bex: If I were to look in your closet right now, would I find frills and lace or denim and tees?

Alyssa: I’m definitely a denim and tees type of girl.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 Great answers.

Now that we’ve learned a bit more about Alyssa and her writing process, let’s take a look at her new release, BETRAYED.

BETRAYED Blurb: Tasha Thomas’s life has been turned upside down. One day at work she finds evidence that her boss the Mayor is heading up a sex ring. She’s in over her head. He sends his men after her for knowing too much information. After escaping her kidnappers, she runs to her husband Alex for help.

Alex is shocked to see his wife who left months ago on his doorstep. He’s never gotten over her leaving. He vows to protect her with the very last breath in his body. Except all the evidence points to her being guilty of being the head of the sex ring, his FBI team has been trying to bring down. Can he prove her innocents and show her that they still belong together, before he losses her for good?

EXCERPT:  (NOTE: This is an erotic romance so the excerpt below may not be suitable for readers under 18 — If you are not over 18 or are offended by erotic literature, please do not read further)

A hot palm pressed into her hips, forcing out a shaky breath. Alex stood behind her.

“Move your legs back some more,” he said in a low voice. “I’ll steady you. Just like that, good, now arch your back some more.”

His finger trailed across her spine, and without thinking, she arched toward him. Her mind stilled, and all she could think of was him, and how his hands held her. How she wanted him to do more, touch her further. Heat raced down her spine, pooling into her sex.

“Thanks.” She hoped he didn’t hear the way her voice shook.

His hand slid the rest of the way down her spine and over her ass. Tremors rushed through her body as he massaged like he had all day to keep her on edge. Alex pressed a finger close to the cleft, and she stopped breathing. He pushed his hand up her leg and into her shorts and panties. Without a warning, he plunged deep into her wet folds. Ruthless. He didn’t let her body get use to the sensation before he circled her sex. Nothing felt as good as her husband touching her.

“Alex, we can’t.” No matter how badly she wanted him, she couldn’t risk her heart.

With a quick flick of his finger against her clit, all reasoning of why they couldn’t vanished. She grabbed her legs to keep steady.

“Shh, Tasha, feel me touching you. Don’t think for now.” Strain dripped with each word. He’d been as affected as her.

She couldn’t think even if she wanted to with the sensations washing over her body. Alex’s erection pressed against the small of her back. Blood rushed to her head making her lightheaded. She should say something, but words wouldn’t come—only moans. He wanted her as much as she wanted him in this moment. Her breasts ached with need as her nipples pebbled with each relentless stroke of her clit. As he drove her closer to the edge, she couldn’t catch her breath. Pure hot heat scorched across her body.

“Yes, right there, oh my, Alex!” she screamed out her climax.

He moved back as he helped her stand. Slowly, she raised her hands to her head as the blood drained back, and the lightheadedness she felt started to fade. Spots danced on the outside of her vision. She closed her eyes and waited for the rushing feeling and the room to stop spinning. What just happened? Damn it, she’d let her guard down for what? An orgasm? No, make that a mind blowing one. One she would do all over again.

She took a deep breath in, opened her eyes and saw him staring back at her. Her heart ached to let go, to fall in his arms forever and never leave.

Tasha turned on her heels and made her way to the door. She had to get away, before they did more than they already had. Alex’s hand wrapped around her bicep, not too tight, but enough to get her attention and silently tell her they weren’t finished. She tried to jerk away from his grasp, but he wouldn’t have any of that, and he pulled her against the hard pecks of his chest.

“Where are you going?” his raspy voice growled.

Alyssa Author Bio: Alyssa is a bestselling suspense author. She resides in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia with her loving husband and four wonderful children who put up with her writing craziness. They have been shushed more than once so she could write down something a character was saying.

As a stay at home mom and the family taxi driver, she still finds time to write about the alpha heroes and strong-willed heroines who keep her imagination running wild.
When not writing you can find her spending time with her family, reading, knitting and watching way too much reality TV.
