Mid-week Tease: I Need a Richard… #MWTease #Erotic #BDSM #Romance #WickedWednesday
I don’t know about the rest of you, but this week has been crawling by for me. Of course, it may be because I am headed to Cape Cod tomorrow (bright and too damned early) to enjoy 4 days of sun and surf on the coast. Yup — long week.
But, the good news is we all have the Mid-Week Tease to make the week go faster.
For my part, this week I thought I would share a bit of a teaser from my most recent Evernight Publishing release, A LEAP OF FAITH. I’m currently working on the next installment of this series, so have Richard on the brain right now. He is one of my favorite characters, and one of those dominants I wish I knew in real life… yup… tasty tasty.
Anyway, for all of us in need of a little Domination this week, here is a bit of my story A LEAP OF FAITH:

Faith woke to find herself still nestled tightly against Richard’s warm body and bright, early morning sunshine streaming through the gauzy gray curtains of his bedroom. Not quite ready to face the realities of dawn, she snuggled deeper into the covers, inhaled a lungful of his spicy scent, and pressed her eyes closed.
When she opened them again, her gaze locked with Richard, who sat reclined against the headboard. Had he been watching her sleep? She moved to sit up, cheeks heating.
Richard held her in place, a smile lighting his features. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Sorry, I was just…”
“Just nothing. I’m not done admiring your beauty quite yet. The black leather collar suits you, pet.”
A tiny smile tugged at the corner of her lips, but before she could thank him, Richard swiped the blankets away with a quick jerk, exposing her nudity, and letting all the trapped heat out from under them.
Faith squealed, wrapped her arms around her bared breasts, and rolled into him. Burying her face against his chest, she gave an exaggerated shiver. “Too cold.”
“It’s like eighty degrees in here.”
She peeked up at him. “It was until you let all the heat out of the covers.”
He reached between her arms and tweaked a nipple. “Don’t worry. You’ll warm up while you’re making the coffee. You know where everything is, yes?”
She shivered and glanced across the room at the bedroom door. “It’s so far away.”
His laughter warmed her some. “You’ll survive. I like mine black, one sugar.” He gave her behind a pinch. “Hop to it. The sooner it’s done, the sooner you can return to the warm covers.” A teasing light danced in his eyes. “And, more importantly, me.”
Faith bowed her lips into a pretty pout. “May I have a kiss to keep me warm during my journey to the harsh and frozen realm of ceramic kitchen tiles?”
“How can I refuse you when you ask so nicely, fair maiden?” He gripped her chin, his sweet mouth descending towards hers. A hair’s breath from reaching her parted lips, Richard hesitated. “What do you say?”
“Please?” she begged.
He captured her mouth with his, heating Faith to her toes in the space of an instant, and scattering her thoughts like autumn leaves in a brisk wind.
She melted against him, whimpering when his tongue invaded and teased hers, taunting it to join in his erotic dance. Her hands slid up his toned pectorals on their way to encircle his neck.
Richard captured her wrists, stopping her timid advance in its tracks. He drew his hot lips away, leaving her breathless. “Oh, no you don’t. Nice try, little minx. Coffee first. Your reward comes afterward.”

Unlike many of the other authors you’ll meet in perusing the participants of this blog Hop, I have only one story published with Evernight at this point in time. So for me, there was only one “boyfriend” to introduce you to — the hero of FAITH’S GIFT (Vanilla-Free Christmas), Richard Halstead.
I guess it’s a damned good thing Richard is a cut above most men. Not only a successful NYC businessman, he’s quick witted, roguishly handsome, of course, and an Alpha male all the way. The lifestyle dominant has no problems going after what he wants — in and out of the bedroom. Not a bad choice to be stuck with, don’t you think?
He made quite a splash with the ladies in my Vanilla-Free Christmas tale, FAITH’S GIFT, so Richard Halstead and his sweet submissive, Faith will be making another appearance in my May 2013 Evernight Romance on the Go title, A LEAP OF FAITH.

Faith glanced down at the dog who’d taken position at her feet. She gave the fluff at the top of his thick head a scratch. “Laura was right, Hercules, the view is really amazing.”
“I agree completely.”
Faith jumped and spun about. Her scream died in her throat.
The most beautiful man she’d ever encountered stood across the room from her, clad in nothing but a fluffy, white towel. Wet, black hair dripped onto broad, bronzed shoulders. The tiny rivulets of water chased each other down the hard lines of his chest, drawing her gaze along washboard ridges of a firm stomach.
Swallowing hard, Faith forced her gaze away from perfect abs, back to the man’s equally distracting face. Her heart hammered against her ribcage as she gauged the distance between herself and the front door.
Poor Faith. She never stood a chance, really. If his rugged good looks aren’t enough to persuade you, perhaps we should take a closer look at Richard’s quick wit and charm.
“I should really get going, Mr. Halstead.” She reached down and grabbed her bag. “I’ll just come back tomorrow at the same time.” Faith glanced at Hercules. “As long as you promise not to growl at me again.”
“Yes, you’re right. Absolutely. I’m sure it’s much safer to ride the subway this late than to take a well meaning stranger up on his offer of kindness.” The deep timbre of his voice made her shiver.
She wrinkled her nose. He did have a point. And besides that, what did she have to run home to? Certainly nothing as attractive or interesting as the male specimen standing in front of her. Laura’s most recent admonishments echoed in her mind—Live a little, take a chance. If Faith were brutally honest with herself, she had no real desire to leave—at least not yet. A prickle of warning jabbed at her spine, but she ignored it. “I guess you’re right.”
“Good, then you’ll stay.” Richard turned and headed to the mirrored bar built into the wall near a huge flat screen TV. He poured himself a drink from one of the crystal decanters and glanced over his shoulder at her. “Would you like one?”
See what I mean? Faith never had a chance at resisting a man like Richard Halstead. Still not convinced? Seriously?
Alright, time for the big guns… Richard’s secret weapon — his smooth, commanding Dominance…
He hadn’t moved. He just stood there, his intense green gaze devouring her.
With insides squirming and cheeks burning hot, Faith unbuckled her pants, slid them down to her ankles, and stepped out of the legs. They joined her blouse on the floor. Standing upright, she thanked the heavens she actually bothered to wear matching panties.
“Undergarments need to go as well. I want to see every inch of you.”
After a slight hesitation to gather her courage, Faith’s bra and panties joined the growing pile of discarded clothing. She stood before him, arms folded protectively over her bare breasts. Her weight shifted from left to right as he continued staring at her. God. Did I do something wrong?
“Good girl,” Richard said finally, breaking the tenuous silence. “I want you to lock your fingers behind your head. Be proud of what you offer, Faith. You are a gorgeous woman.”
She swore she blushed all the way to her toes. “Thank you, Sir.”
“Turn around.”
Faith took a deep breath and swung about. Just knowing he watched her, inspected her, gave her chills of excitement.
She let loose a gasp of shock when his warm hand caressed the curve of her hip and slid upward along her waistline, sending shivers of pleasure through her limbs. “On your knees, Faith.”
She quivered at the command in his words and tried to ignore the dampness growing between her thighs.
*swoon* I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m convinced. Richard Halstead is my choice of Book Boyfriend.

Welcome to the Book Nook for another installment of SEXY SNIPPETS, where we share 7 steamy sentences from a recent release or WIP.
I’ve decided to share a piece from the erotic romance follow-up to my anthology story, Faith’s Gift. I just finished the first draft of this one last night. I had been using a working title of A Test of Faith for it, but I’ve changed things up and I think I am going with the title: FAITH AND TRUST (I’m letting it ruminate a bit – not sure I’m in love with that yet).
I’ll be subbing it to Evernight Publishing over the coming days in the hopes they will accept it for their Romance on the Go line. (Hope I didn’t jynx myself)
Here is just a little teaser picked out especially for all you Richard Halstead fans out there.
Fingertip vices closed over her nipples and stretched them taut.
Faith gasped as lightning struck the hardened nubs.

#SexySnippets: A Taste of My Current WIP #Erotic #BDSM
Welcome to another installment of Sexy Snippets. Sorry for my late posting this morning. I had a little bit of trouble getting up and moving this Sunday.
But, without further delay, here are my seven sentences for this week, brought to you from my current WIP, A Test of Faith (WT). In this scene, Richard is enjoying an evening with his new submissive, Faith.
Led by the leash, Faith crawled forward a few feet.
“Here is good.” Richard crouched down, pulled the chain taut, and attached the end to something on the floor, trapping her in place. He tested the chain, giving it a yank to ensure it wouldn’t pull free from whatever he’d tethered her to.
Faith had enough room to move her head slightly left or right, but she couldn’t lift it higher than her shoulders and she couldn’t back up. A sense of helplessness washed over her, stealing her breath. Her heart thundered against her ribcage.
